SCENTSWIPE
Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 21, 2026 · Contact: support@scent-swipe.com
ScentSwipe helps you discover fragrances by swiping, saving a personal wardrobe, and following friends. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how to control it.
1. What we collect
Account information
- Email address and display name when you create an account (email/password or Sign in with Apple).
- Apple may share your name on first sign-in if you allow it.
Photos you choose to add
- When you add a fragrance to your wardrobe with a photo, the image is uploaded to our image storage (Cloudflare R2) and linked to your submission.
- Photos are only used to display your wardrobe entry and, if you submit a new fragrance, for admin review before it can appear to other users.
Push notification token
- If you allow notifications, we store an Expo push token linked to your account so we can send you relevant updates (e.g., new drops).
- You can disable this at any time in the app (Profile → Notifications) or in iOS Settings.
App preferences on your device
- Liked/disliked fragrances, wardrobe, and display preferences are stored locally on your device (SQLite) and, when signed in, synced to your account so your shelf follows you.
What we do NOT collect
We do not run ads, ad SDKs, or cross-app tracking. We do not sell your data.
2. Why we collect it (legal basis)
To provide the core features you asked for — authentication, your personal wardrobe, friends/follow, and fragrance discovery — and to keep the app functional and safe. Photo uploads and push tokens are optional and only processed after your explicit action/permission.
3. Who processes your data
- Supabase — authentication and database (EU/US regions, encrypted in transit and at rest, Row-Level Security enforced).
- Cloudflare R2 / Workers — image storage and upload handling.
- Expo (EAS) push service — delivers push notifications if you opt in.
We do not share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.
4. How long we keep it
- Account data: until you delete your account.
- Photos: until you remove the wardrobe entry or delete your account. Submitted fragrances that are approved become part of the shared catalog with their image; rejected submissions are deleted.
- Push tokens: until you disable notifications or delete your account.
5. Your controls
- Access / correction: edit your display name and avatar in Profile.
- Delete account: Profile → Delete Account (two-step confirmation). This permanently deletes your profile, wardrobe links, push tokens, and authentication record. Local data on your device is cleared on next launch. This action cannot be undone.
- Photos: remove any wardrobe entry to delete its photo.
- Notifications: toggle in Profile or iOS Settings → Notifications → ScentSwipe.
- Contact: email support@scent-swipe.com for any request, report, or appeal.
6. User-generated content
Display names, avatars, and fragrances you submit are user-generated content. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share any text or image you submit. We review submitted fragrances before they can appear to other users. If you see content that violates this policy or the law, report it from the user's profile (Report button) or contact us at the address above — we act promptly and have a remediation plan.
7. Children's privacy
ScentSwipe is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
8. Security
Data is transmitted over TLS and stored with encryption at rest where supported by our providers. No method is 100% secure, but we apply least-privilege access, Row-Level Security, and authenticated uploads.
9. International transfers
Your data may be processed in the regions where our providers operate. By using ScentSwipe you consent to this transfer.
10. Changes
We may update this policy to reflect app or legal changes. We will update the date above and, for material changes, notify you in-app or by email.
